Our client is a fast-growing software platform that helps businesses grow with better shipping. As more companies tap into e-commerce growth, expand omnichannel and international distribution, and upgrade old on-premise software applications to new cloud software systems, demand for the company software platform is accelerating.  Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to help capitalize on growth opportunities by accelerating time to market of new features, improving user experience, and increasing the quality of solutions.
 
The ideal candidate will be interested in working in a fast-paced environment where software applications are central to the business, customer service is key, and improvements are continuous. The Quality Assurance Specialist must be able to work independently, have good writing and communication skills, and be very organized and detail-oriented. The best candidates will take initiative to improve the quality, performance, and usability of the company’s solutions, working closely with all members of the product, services, and sales teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and Resolve Issues: Diagnose, report, track, and resolve quality issues working with support, services, and product teams.
  • Plan and ExecuteTests:  Write detailed test plans for areas of system functionality, perform test plans manually to ensure system behavior, gather and validate results for all test cases.
  • Create Automated Tests:  As tests plans deliver proven value, develop Gherkin test cases for test automation, work with the rest of the product team to enable full automation.
  • Manage Load Tests:  Work with the product team to create, manage, run, and improve load management tests to validate throughput and stability of new system updates.
  • CommunicateStatus:  Clearly communicate test plans, timelines, test results, issues, and coordinate with the rest of the product team to support new release cycles.
  • Create Documentation:  Write clear and easy-to-use documentation in the form of end user tutorials, how to guides, release notes, configuration / administration guides, and more.
 

Skills and Tools:

  • Microsoft Word:Create clear, easy-to-use, professional documentation in Word.
  • Microsoft Excel: Build test plans, estimate testing efforts, manage results in Excel.
  • Jira: Use Jira to create, manage, track, and resolve bugs, issues, and other cases.
  • Cucumber/SpecFlowf or.NET: Work on and learn about Behavior Driven Development (BDD) to organize key system use-cases, develop new test scenarios in Gherkin, and work with the product team to create new test automation suites.
  • Microsoft SQLServer:Create basic SQL Queries to review data, diagnose issues, and support test automation as create, run, refine manual and automated test scripts.
  • XML and Data Manipulation:  Review and adjust system configurations in XML, create mock data and tests cases in XML, review data in log files and other forms as part of testing process.
  • Visual Studio Teams: Run automated Cucumber / SpecFlow test suites against multiple environments, manage all test cases as part of standard source control. Learn and use source control management tools to create, update, and run automated test suites.
  • ERPSystems:Learn about and use some of the latest popular ERP systems from Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft, Infor and more as you work on full solution testing.
 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Self-starter with the drive and passion to think critically,measure,execute quickly
  • Solid experience with overall testing (solid manual testing – automation a plus)
  • Good communication skills, positive attitude and growth interests
  • Multi-tasker with the ability to juggle many competing priorities and projects
  • Learn,grow,and learn some more everyday as your skills and knowledge increase
  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience,Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
